FNS Awards

Congratulations to the 2016 Resident Award Winner:

Brian Sindelar, MD

Brian Sindelar, MD, was born and raised in Chicago, Il. He graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with a bachelors in molecular and cellular biology and a minor in chemistry.

Dr. Sindelar received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago in May 2012. During medical school, he avidly volunteered being presented with the Tom C. Reeves Memorial Award for “outstanding leadership/representation, volunteerism, and strength of character.”

He began his neurosurgery residency at UF in July 2012. During residency, he continued his interest in pre-clinical and clinical research in traumatic brain injury focusing on inpatient management and also preventative measures of concussion and traumatic hearing loss. Following completion of residency training in 2019, Dr. Sindelar will begin his active duty service with the United States Army were he hopes to continue a vibrant career in academic neurosurgery.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, running, watching various sports, and playing with his dog.
